Watch Video: Apprentice Shane Conlon on the valuable experience he has gained so far at Mac Zero

Following on from NI Apprenticeship Week last week and at the start of National Apprenticeship Week Mac Zero Modular Buildings wanted to highlight the role apprentices play in our business.

Apprenticeships offer a really valuable route into a job at Mac Zero. They are important to all construction companies as we grow the next generation of skills and we are committed to supporting young talent like Shane Conlon.

Shane has been working as our Quantity Surveyor Apprentice at Mac Zero Modular Buildings for the last 3 years while studying Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at Ulster University. While learning the foundations at university his skills are enhanced by on the job experience.

In his role, he is learning Mac Zero’s established and trusted supply chain processes. He is involved in all aspects of the commercial management of projects, from initial estimating and budgeting, through to procurement and management of subcontractor packages and client valuations and final accounts.

Sustainability is at the heart of all we do and Shane is developing experience in embodied carbon, carbon accounting and social value reporting and witnessing, first hand, the positive impact that Mac Zero modular buildings have in businesses, organisations and communities.
