The importance of Mental Health in Construction: Mac Zero sponsor The Lighthouse Charity

Did you know that one in five work‑related illnesses in construction is linked to stress, depression or anxiety?

That stark statistic comes from the The Lighthouse Charity, the only UK and Ireland charity dedicated solely to the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of construction workers and their families.

With this week being Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17th May), we’re committed to ensuring we do what we can to support our team and have teamed up with Lighthouse as a Company Supporter. Many thanks to Brian Shanks MCIOF MHFA, Lead Partnerships Manager at Lighthouse for visiting our HQ and outlining the services that the charity provides.

In addition four members of the Mac Zero Modular Buildings team have now completed Mental Health First Aid training, and we’ve delivered mental health awareness sessions for our entire workforce, helping to build understanding, confidence and the ability to spot when someone might need support.

At Mac Zero Modular Buildings, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive working environment. Alongside providing the right tools and equipment to work safely, we’re proud to have professional mental health support in place to help our colleagues build resilience and get support should they need it.
